Science

What is Science?
-is a search for knowledge and truth.

Branch of Science
There are two ways of classifying science: Pure Science, which is a theoretical study of natural or physical phenomena without regard to practical application, and Applied Science, which develops pratical uses of scientific knowledge.

The three main subdivions of science are Physical Science, Earth Science, and Life Science.

Branches of Physical Science- are the study about non living matter.
*Chemistry- deals with the study of the compositon, structure, form, and physical and chemical properties of matter.
*Physics- deals with the study of matter and energy, including light, sound, electricity, magnetism, radiation and motion.

Branches of Earth Science- deal with the scientific study of earth.
*Geology- branch of science that involves the study of the origin, history, evolution, and structure of the earth's crust.
*Paleontology- the scientific study of prehistoric life, based mainly on fossils of animals and plants.
*Meteorology- the study of the atmosphere that focuses on weather processes and forecasting.
*Seismology- the study of earthquakes and the movement of waves through earth.
*Astronomy- the study of celestial bodies.

Branches of Life Science- study of living organisms.
*Biology- the study of living organisms and their vital processes.
*Botany- the study of plants, including the properties and life phenomena exhibited by a plant, plant type or plant group.
*Zoology-the study of all aspects of animal life.
*Ecology- the study about the relationship of living organisms with each other and their interaction with their surroundings.
*Genetics- the study of the genetic makeup of living organisms.
